Work has been progressing well on the restoration of the cab and bodywork of 20001. Since commencing at Christmas, rust has been cut out and panelling replaced with new sheet on the cab, side panels and nose end. The work is planned to be complete later in the year with the loco being restored to green.
Thanks to Lester, Will, Lee and Steve Moores for their for their efforts with the endless preparation and undercoating. Not forgetting Liam for his excellent welding.
Our appearance at this year’s Swanage Diesel gala has been eventful, but a great success so far, with 20227 debuting it’s new London Underground Livery working with 20189.
As with any event involving historic there have been plenty of last minute changes, Class 20 Locomotives Ltd 20142 has been a last minute addition to the event, due to electrical problems with Class 44, D4 'Great Gable'.
The 20’s were booked to haul 4 VEP 3417 from Clapham to Swanage, but again problems with the unit on the day resulted in them them travelling in convoy light engine.
Thanks to Steve Moores, Bill Bass and Trevor Rolfe for Photos
