Washford Heath, Ruslip and Ripley

A quick update on the status of our loco's and the incredible amount of work that is being carried out, up and down the country.

D8001 remains in the warm dry shed at Boden Rail in Birmingham, the power unit is to be lifted out in the next couple of weeks for repairs to the generator.

20227 remains at the London Transport Depot at Ruislip, with occasional use for shunting. A new set of batteries fitted were fitted this week to improve reliability ahead the Epping to Ongar Railway Gala in April.

The work carried out to 20205 in the past four weeks is too long to list here, ranging from the cab interior paintwork to starting to refurbish the window wipers. The real focus has been to resolve any coolant leaks; pipework has been disconnected and joint seals replaced. The filters and fuel damping vessel diaphrams have been renewed and oil strainers changed.  The steam cleaning and preparing the underside continues ready for the refurbished bogies to refitted in late March. Thanks to Lee and Will for their dedication and continued hard work.
